Con Season is Coming!

 | January 16, 2012 1:36 am

The con season is starting back up again. We have several things planned for this year and a number of conventions. Please keep visiting to see our progress. Next up for the site is a tutorial from Brandi on her Dead Master wings. She has been getting a lot of questions about it these past few months.

Anime Weekend Atlanta

 | October 3, 2011 12:29 am

We are back from AWA 2011 here in Atlanta. As always, a great fun con. Crowds were great this year, very polite, and not as crushed as Dcon. Nice to see a lot more people there on Sunday than normal since this year there was no conflict with Japan Fest as with previous years.

Appleseed seemed to go over very well for us Saturday. We took Best Props in the costume contest. Everything held up far better than expected. We were suited up for around 13 hours with only a short break for dinner. Considering two hours was the longest Brandi had made it before, that was great! The modifications and Underarmor Heat Gear really helped.

Pics are posted in the Photo gallery under Events. We hope to get more pics of the group up soon.

Special thanks to Jess and Derek for all their help and great photos!

Post DragonCon Catch-up

 | September 10, 2011 9:23 pm

DragonCon was good as ever. Lots of updates to do and photos to load. I’ve loaded them to Facebook, now I need to do Flickr and here. That is next.

The site is kind of messed up at the moment. My admin and I tried something new and moved the site to the cloud. During the process the image galleries got a bit jacked. With Dcon, neither of us had time to do much with it. We’ll be on it soon though.

Pics soon.

Johnny Progress

 | August 2, 2011 11:46 pm

Johnny is mostly in. I just need a few more things to round him out. I’m still struggling with actually painting on the Schott jacket. It was quite expensive and required sending it back and forth with Schott in New York to get it customized correctly. I’m not sure if I would wear it more or less if I painted it up correctly.

FYI, There is not a Y shape set of black lines in the skull as is often seen in replicas of the B.R.M.C. jacket logo. That is simply the seams in one of the jackets rubbing through the spray painted on logo. The first pic above shows this happening and is one of hte best reference pics you can pull from the movie.

Issues, issues, issues

 | 11:43 pm

Still having some issues with the new site layout. Hope to have everything up and running in time for Dragon Photos and writeup.

Angry Dog Studios from now on…

 | June 30, 2011 11:43 pm

So we’ve officially changed the name over to AngryDogStudios now. Brandi and I felt it better represented what we do. Armor is only one part of our hobbies and even in the costuming realm it represents only one aspect of costuming. Coupled with my love of photography, we felt “Studios” better covered things.

Angry Dog Armor will stick around as a URL, but it will now be pointing to the Studios link. Our emails are going to be going forward as well. We hope to grow the site with more tutorials, updates and photos!

Lots of progress going on this month. Thanks to our web admin, Jason, we have the new ADS site up. There are still some tweaks, the galleries are still broken, but we are getting there.

We’ve returned to working on our previously put on hold secret project for Anime Weekend. If it gets done in time, we may even break it out for DragonCon. In addition we are working on several other costumes at the moment. Brandi is heavy into working on her Queen’s Blade Melona costume. That one is going to prove to be very interesting. I’m working on a couple of lighter, but rather expensive, costumes. My favorite being Marlon Brando’s Johnny from The Wild One.

More updates soon, including progress pics.

Site Updates Underway

 | June 16, 2011 10:58 am

We are doing some site updates. Some thing may be broken for a few days such as images and the photo gallery. Additionally may link to an SSL error for a bit while we move hosting around. Please bare with us.
